TRAINING PLANS

Find the right plan for you

 

 If Coaching is currently not viable option for you, but you still want to train with purpose on an ongoing basis; then pre built Training Plans could be the solution for you to reach your cycling goals. These Training Plans are to work with a TrainingPeaks account, which is quick, easy and free to set up if you don't have one.

Knowledge base

Incorporated into each pre built Training Plan is the knowledge of what has worked through coaching individual riders since 2010. The types of cycling goals covered by the choice of training plans listed and choice of training volume levels are what coach Richard has the most experience with in successfully guiding hundreds of riders to similar cycling goals by testing until the point of success in the real world, listening to riders feedback and tracking their data. This is reflected in the effectiveness of each of these Training Plans

Choosing a training plan

The first step is choosing Training Plans that you believe best fits the cycling goals you want to work towards. The options below will take you to a selection of cycling goals. You can then chose the length of plan that best fits your needs, from:

  • Base Training 13 week plans
  • Peak Training 12 week plans
  • Base and Peak 24 week plans

Then choose a level of training volume, relative to what you have done before, from:

  • Masters: around 6 hours average training per week
  • Intermediate: around 8 hours average training per week
  • Advanced: around 10 hours average training per week

What’s included in each plan

  • Training Plans guide document on how to use your plan
  • Coaching guidance in every bike workout
  • Automatically exportable workout steps for your indoor cycling app and bike computer
  • Entire plan or individual weeks are reusable to future dates in your TrainingPeaks calendar
  • Training Plans end date can be changed to fit around the timing of when you want to peak your form
  • WKO5 guide and charts included to set up Power Duration Curve based power targets
  • Email access to Coach if you need help initially setting your plan up
  • Each plan works with a basic TrainingPeaks account. You don't need TrainingPeaks Premium to get started

WKO5 or classic power zones?

Lastly; chose a "Classic Power" plan for the most simple option and if you have a copy of WKO5 and you are willing to adjust some targets inside of workouts for greater customisation; then select a "WKO5 iLevels" version of the Training Plan you are interested in. You can then browse some sample details of workouts and weekly training volume structure to help find the right plan for you
